Meeting point: 2.40 pm at San Zaccaria n. 20 waterbus stop. We will then take the boat n.2 to Isola di San Giorgio at 2.49 pm.
The visit is open to all interested students and faculty. Participation is free of charge.
PROGRAM:
Guided visit to Le Stanze del Vetro and the ‘Thomas Stearns at Venini’ exhibition, curated by Marino Barovier (1 h approx.).
The exhibition will explore the work of the American artist at the Venini glassworks in the early 1960s. Following an initial period during which he became familiar with Murano techniques, he started to create some very original and unusual works in the context of local production. Some of those works were also presented at the 31st Biennale in 1962 and rewarded with the accolades of the adjudication panel. More info at this link
