Join us on a trip from Venice towards the Veneto countryside to discover the glorious traces of renaissance in the noblemen's summer retreats in the Venice and Padua mainland.
We will start our visit from Villa Foscari “La Malcontenta”, near Venice, one of the masterpieces of Palladio, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will then move further inland to Villa dei Vescovi, another example of the Villas built starting from the renaissance period near Padua. To conclude, we will visit the house of the poet Francesco Petrarca, in Arquà Petrarca, one of the most pictoresque towns in the Euganean hills.
The visit is compulsory for students of the courses F1904 Art and Architecture in Renaissance Venice and F1905 Italian Architecture in Russia, for whom the costs will be covered by VIU.
The cost of the visit for students not enrolled in the above mentioned courses is 17 euros per person (21 euros for over 26 yo). This includes transportation and entrance tickets.
To participate please sign the list at the Front Office and bring the ticket amount (if due) by Thursday October 3 at noon.

Logistic info
Meeting point at Tronchetto boat stop (not Tronchetto mercato) at 8.45 am. You can reach Tronchetto also from Piazzale Roma using the People Mover train and then walking to the meeting point. The ACTV monthly pass is valid also on the People Mover
Lunch is not provided by VIU. You can bring a packed lunch, the lunch break will be in the park at Villa dei Vescovi, where there is also a cafeteria.
Return to Venice (Tronchetto) is expected around 5.30 pm. The arrival time is somewhat flexible, since it is dependent on the traffic.
