San Giorgio Island
Guided tours at 10.30 am and 11.30 am
The visit is open to all interested students and faculty. Participation is free of charge.
PROGRAM:
Guided visit to LE STANZE DEL VETRO and to the two side-by-side exhibitions “Tapio Wirkkala alla Venini” and “Toni Zuccheri alla Venini”, curated by Marino Barovier (1 h approx.).
The two artists and designers were active at the Venini furnace in the 1960s. They both contributed, with their strong personalities, to the character of the production of the glassworks. In those transformational years, Venini was able on the one hand to present new models without giving up the use of colour, and on the other to respond to the new minimalist requirements in the world of design. Meeting point: 10 am at San Zaccaria n. 20 waterbus stop. We will then take the boat n.2 to Isola di San Giorgio at 10.13 am. For the second visit, the meeing point is in San Giorgio Island in front of the church at 11.15 am.
