Visit to Vicenza and Villa Barbaro

Visits to: Vicenza- Olimpic Theatre and Villa Barbaro

The visit is compulsory for students of the courses S2204 Art and Architecture in Renaissance Venice and S2219 Public Renaissance: Urban Cultures of Public Space between Early Modern Europe and the Present. For them the costs will be covered by VIU.

8.40 Meeting at Tronchetto Mercato
9.00 Private bus departing from Tronchetto bus park (behind the People Mover)
10.00 Arrival in Vicenza

10:30 visit to the Olympic Theatre

11:00-11:30: walking into Vicenza street- Palladio’s palaces

11:30-12:00 Piazza dei Signori 

12-13:15 Lunch break

13:30 departing to Villa Barbaro

14.30 arrive in Villa Barbaro

14:45 visit to the Villa Barbaro

15.30 Bus departing from Villa Barbaro
16.30 Arrival at Tronchetto

Visit to Biennale Exhibition and Biennale Pass

Banner Biennale 500x500VIU students have the opportunity to buy a special 3-day pass for visiting the two seats of the Venice Biennale Exhibition. The pass costs 20 euro per person and allows 3 entrances (even on non-consecutive days) to Giardini and Arsenale venues.

The cost of the pass is sponsored by VIU for the students of the course S2201 History of Venice, since the visit to Biennale is a co-curricular activity of their course. 

All VIU students and faculty can buy a pass, just signing the list at the Front Office and bringing the ticket amount by Friday, April 15 at noon.

The pass is nominal and will be available to pick up after the midterm break.

 

A guided visit to the Giardini venue is organized on Friday, April 29, at 4 pm, for the students of the S2201 History of Venice course, as a compulsory co-curricular activity. Places are available for other students and professors. The visit will be at the Giardini Pavillions.

 

 

 

N.B. The tickets are nominal. Please remember to bring your ID/Passport during the visit, otherwise you may be denied access to the Biennale at the ID check.
