3-day Pass for the Biennale Exhibition

VIU students have the opportunity to buy a special 3-day pass for visiting the two seats of the Venice Biennale Exhibition. The pass costs 20 euro per person and allows 3 entrances (even in non-consecutive days) to Giardini and Arsenale venues.

The cost of the pass is sponsored by VIU for the students of the courses F1901 History of Venice and F1925 Modernism: Enchantments and Disenchantments, since the visit to Biennale is a co-curricular activity of their courses. 

All VIU students and faculty can buy a pass, just confirm signing the list at the Front Office and bringing the ticket amount by Tuesday October 22 at noon.

The pass is nominal and will be available to pick up after the midterm break (November 4).

 

A guided visit to the Giardini venue is organized on Saturday November 16, 3 pm, for the students of the F1901 History of Venice and F1925 Modernism: Enchantments and Disenchantments courses, as compulsory co-curricular activity. 

 

 

 

N.B. The tickets are nominal. Please remember to bring your ID/Passport during the visit, otherwise you may be denied access to the Biennale at the ID check.

Scholarships are offered by Comitato Leonardo to students of Italian universities who wrote their thesis on issues related to the sectors of Italian excellence (design, fashion, technology and innovation, etc.)

Visit to Palazzo Ducale

Come and discover a masterpiece of Venetian architecture with its secrets and history.

The visit is compulsory for students of the course  S2501 History of Venice. 

Cost
The visit is sponsored by VIU for students enrolled in the course mentioned above.
Some places may be available for other students. The cost of the ticket for students under 26 yo is 5€.

To participate please sign the list at the Front Office and bring the ticket amount (if due) by Wednesday February 26.
Also the students for whom the visit is compulsory will have to confirm their participation by signing their names at the Front Office.

Program
The meeting point will be in front of the entrance of Palazzo Ducale 15 minutes before the start of the visit.
To avoid delays and queues, we will distribute the tickets at the entrance as soon as you arrive and then let you inside the main courtyard of Palazzo Ducale to wait for the guided visit to start.

 

Introductory Lecture to the Venice South Lagoon trip

"Both the Sea and Mobile Dams as Threats. The Contemporary Imaginary of the Fishermen of the Lagoon"
Prof. Rita Vianello

 

The lecture will be delivered by Prof. RITA VIANELLO, Ca’ Foscari University, Anthropologist of the Sea, author of books about Pellestrina’s fisherman and on the Gondoliers.

Professor Vianello, who did extensive field work in Pellestrina, will introduce to us the Culture of the Fishermen of the Lagoon and to their perception and reaction towards the massive environmental transformation induced by the building of the Mobile Dams (MoSE).

Please note: this lecture is part of the boat trip to the Southern Venice Lagoon to be held on May 1.
It is compulsory for the students enrolled in the course History of Venice (S1901) and Globalization, Environment and Sustainable Development (S1925)

Boat trip to the Southern Venice Lagoon: MOSE, Murazzi, Pellestrina and Ca’ Roman

Come with us and discover the amazing and varied landscapes of the Venice lagoon!

During the trip we will visit:
the Malamocco inlet and the Mose project installations
the Museum of the Lagoon on Pellestrina Island
Murazzi (sea walls) and the Natural reserve in Ca' Roman

Return expected at about 5 pm in San Servolo/San Zaccaria.

 

N.B. The visit is compulsory for students enrolled in:
F1801 History of Venice,
for them the costs will be covered by VIU.

Extra places are available for any other student and professor interested!

Extra participants: 10 euro/person including transportation & entrance tickets.
To confirm your participation, please sign the roster and pay the fee at the Front Office before Wednesday October 3 at noon. First come, first served basis.

Bring your own packed lunch since the lunch break will be in Pellestrina or at the natural reserve of Ca’ Roman.
