Students and scholars from the member universities are encouraged to explore the programs on offer in 2023, and apply early to guarantee their place.

VIU will offer a wide range of Intensive Graduate Activities in 2026. 

Students and scholars from the member universities are encouraged to explore the programs on offer in 2026, and apply early to guarantee their place.

Graduate Seminars at VIU are designed for Master's and PhD students, offering them an intensive program in a transnational context that spans various disciplines, languages, and cultures. Students receive support from professors in refining their research questions for their theses and incorporating interdisciplinary perspectives and reflections.

Each Graduate Seminar is developed and delivered through a collaboration of at least three member universities, guided by a scientific coordinator and supported by VIU's institutional and organizational resources. The programs are distinguished by their interdisciplinary approach.

In 2024, VIU held two Graduate Seminars: 

- Translation: Why Is It a Political Question? Perspectives In Philosophy and Translation Theory, February 2024

- Towards Geo-Data Science: Extracting Knowledge from Heterogeneous Geoenvironmental Data, May 2024

For this 5th edition, the topic of focus of the International PhD Academy is Mobility Challenges for Future Society.

The ICrome project was cofinanced by The Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
Venice International University was one of the receiving institutions of the ICroME project.that included 22 sending partners form Croatia and 12 receiving partners in Italy.

The project provided participants, young employees and unemployed people, with knowledge and specific competences in IRMO and offered mobility for working experience in Italy in the field of European project planning and management.  The funds covered the participants’ travel and living costs in the course of training placement, as well as the cost of preparation activities and the management of the project.

Japan Week in Venice is a program of events of institutional, economic, environmental and cultural nature taking place in Venice from August 27 to September 6, 2019.

In a time where reporting about COVID-19 is no longer merely a prerogative of science journalists, the importance of empowering and training journalists, including those without specialist scientific knowledge is more relevant than ever.

Among the several outputs to be released by the QUEST Project in the second half of 2020 is JECT.AI, a tool for journalists based on AI support. This tool has been created to allow journalists to report about science more effectively.

The development of JECT.AI is led by QUEST partner City, University of London. JECT.AI takes advantage of a variety of automation systems in order to support journalists incorporating writing practices generally associated with good science journalism.

PCST Venice Symposium, September 28-30, 2023

At the Symposium in September, a Concluding Statement was issued to draw attention to the need for research and academic institutions to consider the strategic value of public communication of science, and to mobilize support for these activities.

The Statement highlights the multitude of benefits that investments in science communication can yield, including benefits to society (combating misinformation, making science accessible, equipping citizens to access the public debate on science), benefits to institutions (building reputation, increasing students’ employability, and becoming known as engaged and responsive civic institutions), benefits to research and researchers (offering new work perspectives, improved visibility, to be effective across disciplines, and helping to recruit new collaborators).
