Boat trip to the Southern Venice Lagoon: the Port of Venice, MOSE, Murazzi, Pellestrina

All day (9 am-5 pm)

Meeting point: 8.50 am at Zattere ai Gesuati, in front of the church.

 

Come with us and discover the amazing and varied landscapes of the Venice Lagoon!

 During the trip we will visit:
_the port of Venice and Porto Marghera industrial area;
_the Malamocco inlet and the Mose project installations;
_the Museum of the Lagoon on Pellestrina Island;
_Murazzi, the sea walls built by the Republic of Venice to protect the city from the sea.

Return by 5 pm (approx.) in San Zaccaria.

 

N.B. The visit is compulsory for students enrolled in:
F2301 History of Venice
F2314 Anthropocene Futures, F2323 Ruins: Aesthetics and Politics
F2318 Geopolitics, Resource and Water Scarcity, and Marginalized Populations
F2319 Natural Disasters, Adverse Selection, Moral Hazards and the Future of Urbanization and Development in an Era of Rapid Climate Change
for them the costs will be covered by VIU.

Extra places may be available for other students and professors interested.

Extra participants: 10 euro/person including transportation & entrance tickets.
To confirm your participation, please register for this activity at the Front Office by October 4, 2023.

Bring your own packed lunch, since the lunch break will be a picnic in Pellestrina or on the beach.
