Globalization Program: Spring 2020 Pre-registrations open from October 15

Pre-registrations for the Spring 2020 semester of the Gobalization Program are now open.

The 15-week program will include courses on Venice and Italy, Cultures of the World and Global Challenges and attract over 100 students from all over the world.

Digital technologies and the competitiveness of firms: TeDIS 20th anniversary

Twenty years ago the TeDIS Center (now TeDIS Program on Innovation) started its activities at VIU. The main idea supporting the launch of TeDIS then was to explore how network technologies that were developing at the end of ‘90s could support value creation and sustain new business models for firms and networks. At the beginning of the new millennium the revolution of the Web and the rise of the so-called new economy was an extraordinary laboratory of experimentation in the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in business, where new firms (such as Amazon) or new applications (the e-commerce between firms and with the consumers) appeared in the economic landscape.

Preview of VIU Intensive Graduate Activities in 2020

The Academic Council has approved the following Intensive Graduate Activities for 2020.

Dates and application periods will be confirmed in September 2019.

In November we will launch the applications for the 2020 activities. Sign up for VIU Communications to receive notification when the Calls for Application are issued.

Globalization Program: Fall 2019 Pre-registrations and registration to courses

Registrations to courses for the Fall 2019 semester of the Gobalization Program are postponed to July 25, 3 pm Italian time.

The class schedule for the Fall 2019 Term is under completion and will be available on the VIU website (Schedules section) on July 23, after 5 pm. 

QUEST at World Conference of Science Journalists in Lausanne, Switzerland

Horizon 2020 project QUESTQUality and Effectiveness in Science and Technology communication led by the VIU TEN Program investigates science communication in three strands: journalism, social media and museums. The objective is to define and support quality in science communication to the ultimate benefit of offering citizens an effective and reliable communication on scientific topics that generally have a significant impact on their daily lives (such as vaccines and climate change).

Global Challenges Initiatives at VIU this Summer

The Global Challenges Initiatives are a coordinated stream of VIU activities with a common purpose: the creation of knowledge, understanding, and skills, responding to current and future major societal challenges faced by humankind today.
